Cayuga Era


Remember when we used to get a free ride on the steam ship 
Cayuga on her first trip of each new season.

I think it was the long May weekend she came across the lake from Toronto and gave all the kids in town a free ride up the river to Queenston and back again. 

What an absolute thrill that was having the run of the ship, we could go anywhere we wanted, almost. 

These eight pictures span almost her entire life time. The last picture post card is dated 1916, that is during the first world war. The Cayuga went into service around 1909.
